A little history

The science behind this is quite simple. A ring is fitted to the base of the penis. Extending from the base ring are two steel rods which are attached to a cushioned grip. The head of the penis is clamped lightly in the grip, and the penis is then stretched away from the body.
The tension is not enough to cause injury or damage; however, the prolonged traction causes the penis to react to the stress. The living tissues of the penis react in two ways.
First, gaps are formed between the cells in the penis tissues. The tissue goes to work to heal itself, which requires generating new tissue cells. This results in lengthening over time.
Second, the stressed penis generates greater girth to counteract the tension enforced by the extender. As tension is increased, so too the girth of a penis is increased to counterbalance the added stress.

Yet the question remains: do these devices truly work? It seems nearly too good to be true.
Extensive research has been done in the field, thanks in large part to the studies done on Peyronie’s Disease. These studies have yielded some impressive results, proving the long-term effectiveness of penile extenders.
In 2001, a study was performed on 26 male subjects to determine the effectiveness of penile extenders on Peyronie’s Disease. The study examined the effects of continuous tension and the resulting cellular division. Though the ultimate goal of the study was to straighten the penis, after six months of testing it was clear that the extenders provided a significant enhancement in length and girth. In fact, the men involved saw an average growth of 2.1 centimeters.
A second study was performed in Italy, at the San Giovanni Battista Hospital at the University of Turin. In this study, 15 men used commercial penis extenders over a period of six months. At the end of the six months, the men had gained an average of one inch when flaccid and half an inch when erect.
These are just two of the published studies in this field; however, it is evident that penile extenders can be used to effectively increase length and girth. It seems evident that only time, patience, and continued effort are required for long term results.

What about the alternatives Penis Enlargement?

Perhaps all this seems like an awful lot of work, and you’d be right in that assumption. There are myriad alternatives offered online and in many male magazines. The promises may seem pretty tempting – and like far less work. Be cautious though. Many of these techniques are either ineffective or downright harmful.
Various surgical procedures can be performed to enlarge the penis. One procedure extracts cells from other parts of the body and injects them into the penile shaft. A second procedure involves cutting penile ligaments to add length (though this very often results in a weakened shaft). A third procedure uses (manually) inflatable implants that are inserted into the penis.
All of these surgical procedures are risky, and most doctors advise against them. In fact, a very large percentage of men who have undergone these procedures are very unhappy with the results.
As far as “supplements” or “magic pills”, there is simply no proof of any of these being effective. There is no scientific backing behind the claims, and nearly every doctor will confirm that enhancement pills are nothing more than a scam.
